NO! This facility will be privately funded through the efforts of the Foundation.
How much will this facility cost?
The cost for the Center is $35 million. This is being privately funded through the Education Foundation, not through the School District. Currently, $34.6 million has been pledged!
How will operational costs be covered/paid for once open?
Greenheck Fieldhouse Community Services will operate the facility and expenses will be covered by rentals and user fees.
Who can use the facility?
It will be open to use for anyone - just like Greenheck Fieldhouse. Organizations and individuals will have the opportunity to rent space for practice, competition, working out, etc. There will also be the option for membership for use of the center to the public just like Greenheck Fieldhouse.
Where will it be located?
The Center will be located on the grounds of D.C. Everest Senior High School, connected to the Greenheck Fieldhouse. It will be where the current tennis courts are located. Those tennis courts will be moved perpendicular to where they are now and between the baseball field and GTCC.
When will it be done?
The timeline depends on the community funding campaign. Once we feel our goal is imminent, we will feel confident in beginning to construct the facility. Our goal is an opening of Fall 2024.
